The “One Room Challenge” Spring 2018 Edition Begins! (Week 1)

April 4, 2018 By Lidia 30 Comments

If you’re new at “Design Inside The Box”, welcome!  My name is Lidia and I’m an interior design lover and an organizational nut who occasionally gets her craft on!  The ORC has begun and I couldn’t be more thrilled!  A big thank you goes out to Linda of “Calling it Home” and “One Room Challenge” who created and organized this all!  There’s nothing like a deadline to get me motivated to finish something. 😉

The Room

I’ve been teasing about what room I’ll be working on for the ORC with this design plan, this one, and finally this one!  Have you guessed which one I’m going to be tackling for the next 6 weeks?!  (Hint: It involves my adorable little helper)

My little ORC Helper! www.designinsidethebox.com

It’s our little girl’s room!  It was due.  She’s turning 4 VERY soon and her room needs an update, pronto!  (It still has a change table for goodness sake!)

The “BEFORE” Pictures

To show you what I mean, here are a few “before” pictures:

Now don’t get me wrong, I love this nursery.  I had planned it since the day I knew I was pregnant!  But now that our little girl is growing up (fast might I add!), she deserves a room that grows with her.  A place to not only rest in but her own space to play, draw and have sleepovers in!  So in comes…

The Design Plan!

I don’t want to give away too much but here are the fabrics that are inspiring the whole space!

Everything is getting a re-vamp.  I’ll be changing out her bed, adding in some play tables, adding in more storage and re-working the closet.  In short, a LOT of stuff is going to change!  And we’re all excited about it!  Side note, the dog fabric was inspired by her love of Paw Patrol.  Think I’ll get away without doing some sort of Paw Patrol homage??  (Fingers are crossed!)

I hope you’ll stick with me for the next few weeks and watch this room transform into what I hope will be my little girl’s dream!  And be sure to check out the other designers as well for more design inspiration!

Lidia, it will be so fun to see a little girl’s room transformation. It was certainly cute before, but the black and pink will be so cute. If you’re lucky it will last until she’s a teenager.

Aw, thanks Carol!! She’s probably like me and will tire of a design with a year or two so you may see this room again in another ORC! LOL!!
