“One Room Challenge” Spring Edition 2018 (Week 6) – The REVEAL!

May 10, 2018 By Lidia 36 Comments

It’s REVEAL TIME!!!  Welcome back to my progress of the “One Room Challenge” hosted by the lovely Linda from “Calling it Home” and sponsored by “House Beautiful” and “Home Love Network“!  It’s week 6 which means this is the week where I show you the completed space!  And I couldn’t be more thrilled!!

I honestly didn’t think I’d make it.  That thought occurred to me the night I had to custom make 6 pillows pronto for the room. To say I’m tired is an UNDERSTATEMENT!  But do I have a reveal to show you!  Let’s first take a step back though to what the space looked like 6 weeks earlier.

The “Before” Pictures

This former nursery underwent some serious surgery.  The bones stayed the same but the room got a total makeover!

The Glorious “After” Pictures!

It’s quite the change, right?! We swapped out the bed, turned the colour scheme onto its ear, added in a play space, revamped the closet, added in more vertical storage and we added in a few surprises!

Remember in week 4 when we made some bedside tables?  Well the bed proved to be a bit larger than I expected (despite my measurements!)  So we opted for hanging planters on either side of the bed that act as storage for toy stuffies!

But don’t worry.  Those cute vintage pups that were the star of those bedside tables made their way into the closet!

This room is not huge so I tried to maximize every square inch of space including the area behind the door.  Paying homage to my daughter’s love of hats, I created a little dressing area all her own using some cute door hardware from Home Depot as hooks!

Above the play tables are two wall shelves that are meant to hold artwork, cards, supplies, really anything my daughter would want to display.  The paintings below are ones I did to act as a placeholders and, as you can see, my art skills need improving 😉

May I please draw your attention to the fabulous rug I scooped up? (Thank you Home Depot!)  The colours and style of this rug match the exact vibe I was going for in this space.

I can’t believe this challenge has come and gone.  And while I don’t have pictures of my daughter’s reaction to the space (it was waaaaayyyyy past her bedtime), she said to me “Thank you thank you for my new bedroom!”  That made all of the effort worth it, and then some ♥♥♥

A huge thank you to Home Depot for sponsoring me during this event.  I should just move into a Home Depot, their stuff is that good!

And a big thank you to Linda (“One Room Challenge”), “House Beautiful” and “Home Love Network” for organizing such a crazy fun (and terrifying!) event! Be sure to check out all of the room reveal goodness by clicking the ORC logo below. I’m telling you you’ll be motivated to join in the next round!
